I enjoy driving the back roads of Texas and New Mexico scouting for a lone tree on the plains, perhaps a cliff face on the escarpment, an aspen grove in the Rockies, then creating a painting from the scene before me or a photograph in the comfort of my studio.

"The Road to Earth. Earth, Texas is a small community on the Llano Estacado. The Blackwater Draw passes nearby, an ancient river bed and trail followed by the First Nations people and later Comanchero traders. oil on gallery wrap, ready to hang.
Trees and mountains painted in a contemporary southwest landscape with oil paint. Using only a palette knife I created this painting composition of a fence line and barn with mountains.
